1. Vehicle Exemption Request – 6315 Jason Street
Decision Required: Whether to grant.
Attached is the request along with the applicable portion of the Town Code. Under the Town Code, the trailer is defined as a commercial vehicle. Parking a commercial vehicle in a front yard requires an exception. The Mayor and Council must find that placing the trailer in the garage, which is the cause being asserted for undue hardship, they may consider granting an exception.
2. ~ Discussion – 0-3-14 Trash Collection
~~~~~~Decision Required: Whether to introduce.
In light of the County’s recent decision to no longer accept plastic bags at the yard waste recycling facility, the Staff has determined that changes to the Town Code are in order. Specifically, an attempt is being made to define yard waste as a recyclable, thus including it in our required list of items that must be recycled.
3. Discussion – Alley Policy Request
Decision Required: How to address the request.
The Mayor asked the Director of Public Works to provide the Council with a cost estimate of clearing, grading and surfacing the alley between Montrose Road and Landover Road. The applicant submitted the request a few months back, which is not an option under the Town’s Alley Policy, to have the Town taxpayers incur the expense of opening and improving the alley. Staff has written a memo to address.
